BirchBox Unboxing // May 2017

In my April 2017 BirchBox I said that it would be my last until October. Little did I know, my payment went out and the May 2017 box arrived. I’m not complaining as it’s a nice little treat but I did unsubscribe from BirchBox and it sort of irritated me that they didn’t follow through. So, now I have cancelled the direct debit, this is my final BirchBox unboxing until I return in October.

I will admit, this months box really isn’t my favourite ever and I’m probably least interested in these products more than any. Hopefully they will surprise me. However, I love the packaging of this months box. It’s a marble looking box and it’s just gorgeous, in fact I think I’m going to keep this to store things in.

This months box gives us two full sized products which is lovely. The first is the Marsk Mineral Eyeshadow in Vanilla Frosting. This product retails at £14.49 full sized. I like this product 1. because you get your moneys worth for the box from this product alone and 2. because it actually looks like it would be a lovely highlight as well as eyeshadow. I actually don’t own anything like this so I’m probably most excited about this product than any other in the box.

I also got the SKIN79 Clean-on 2 Step Nose Pack (full sized) which retails at £2.90 which iS crazy affordable. This product is supposed to de-clog your pores and just refresh your skin.

Another makeup item that I received is the Doucce Punk Volumizer Mascara which retails at £18 full sized. I’m always keen to try new mascaras and this is suppose to add volume and thickness which is good since I do have quite thin eyelashes.

I received the Whish Firming Body Cream. This product is £27 full sized and is super good as the brand doesn’t test on animals. It’s supposed to protect and soften skin which is good but it’s essentially a moisturiser.

Finally, the product that I’m least enthusiastic about is the Kueshi Hair Mask Shine and Volume which is £10.50 for a full product. It’s a basic, simple hair mask but because my hair is so thick I find that these types of products just cling to every strand of hair and does take ages to remove.

There we finally have the last unboxing. Enjoy!

BirchBox Unboxing // April 2017

My April BirchBox arrived and there is some real good products that I’m looking forward to trying. Firstly, I’ll just let you guys know that this will be my final BirchBox until October! I’m heading away for the summer and won’t have no use for these as they won’t even be delivered to me or will I have time to post about it.

So, these will probably… possibly continue in October! For now though, lets jump straight into this months box.

We got to choose a product in this months box and for me I picked the Manna Kadar Cosmetics High Definition Powder. This retails at £27 full sized and this month we all received it as a full sized product! Which is incredible. I’ve been looking for a new powder for a while now and this powder is supposed to help you look less dewy and your makeup last a little longer! After swatching it I feel that it’s so soft and velvety, it’ll probably glide straight onto the skin.

The second full sized product that I received was the Nip+Fab Colour Correcting Concealer in Yellow. This retails at £8.85. I think these two products alone are fantastic for the price of the BirchBox in general. I do love to colour correct using the green shade and I’ve never tried the yellow before. Apparently, yellow is used to create a more highlighted look which will be perfect for the spring/summer time!

Next is the Polaar IcePure Gentle Scrub with Arctic Cotton. This retails at £23.50 full sized which is rather expensive, however it says to have Arctic cotton in it and this just sounds very luxurious and exciting. Apparently, Arctic cotton is super moisturising which means that the product will exfoliate and smooth out the skin.. looovely!

I also received the Amika The Shield Style Extending Spray, retailing at £20 for a full sized product. This is supposed to be used by spraying it onto damp or dry hair before applying heat, i.e hair dryer/straightening. I do find that my hair does become very damaged if I don’t use a heat protector so I’m sure this will come in very handy.

Finally, the last product I received was the Boija Paris Creme Moana in Fleur de Tiare, which retails at £15.90 full sized. This is supposed to be used by massaging it into dry skin. It’s pretty much a body lotion that helps with dryness and generally making your skin look and feel healthier. I don’t ever go out of my way and buy things like this but I’ll be sure to put it to the test to see whether it’s actually any use.

There we have it! My April BirchBox. I really liked this month’s, it’s such a shame I’m missing them for the next few months. They’re like a little gift to myself.

BirchBox Unboxing // March 2017

My March BirchBox arrived rather late this month, therefore my review on it had to be late, super sorry! However, it’s arrived and I’m really looking forward to digging into these wonderful products.

This month (and some other months) we’ve been able to choose one of the items that goes into the box. This month it happened to be one of the new Benefit They’re Real lipsticks and lipliners. I chose mine in the shade Lusty Rose as it seemed like the shade I would wear more often. It’s a very pretty, mauve shade and it looks beautiful with so many looks. Since the box arrived I have not stopped wearing it but I’m still unsure whether I love it. I definitely enjoy the colour and creamy formula but it just feels so heavy on my lips and if I’m paying attention to it and sometimes I can’t help but pay attention to it, I find that it really irritates me. These lipsticks retail at £16.50 full sized.

Next is the Batiste Dry Shampoo and Conditioner. I’ve been having a love affair with the Batiste Dry Shampoo for so many years now and I will always go back to it for a dry shampoo. I find that it works brilliantly, it isn’t bad for the price and the scents are gorgeous and really help the texture of my hair when I don’t feel like washing it. I’ve used this a few times and I do see a difference with this product in comparison to the original dry shampoo, I just find that my hair different with it rather than the original. Don’t get me wrong, I still love my dry shampoo from Batiste but I think this may be a new love of mine. This is a newly released product from Batiste (I could be wrong but I don’t think I am) and retails at £4.49 full sized which is around the same price some of the other dry shampoo’s from the brand.

I’ve never tried anything from the brand BalanceMe so when I received the Instant Lift Primer I was immediately excited. I love trying new primer’s and seeing what works for me and what doesn’t. This primer is supposed to help pores disappear and by using ingredients such as hyaluronic acid and acacia gum, it tightens and smooths the skin to create the ideal complexion. I have tried this already but I don’t feel like I’ve tried it enough to give a proper review. I also think the sample size is far too small and has very little product in it that I may only have 2 or possibly 3 portions left. This then means that I have to head out and buy the full sized product, which is £22 to see whether I really do like it.

I also received the Marcelle Gentle Makeup Remover for Sensitive Eyes, this retails at £14.50 and is a BirchBox exclusive. This is probably the product that I am least excited about, I often just use my normal skincare routine to remove my eye makeup and that works absolutely fine. I never go out of my way to purchase an eye makeup remover simply because I don’t think it’s worth the money and I don’t find any micellar water’s irritate my eyes at all. However, it’s a nice treat to have and I’ll take full advantage since I have it and hope that I don’t enjoy it too much because £14.50 for a eye makeup remover is a little pricey.

Lastly, I received the Rituals Sensational Foaming Shower Gel. I received the Rituals Magic Touch Body Cream in my October BichBox and loved it, it was incredible on my skin and made my skin feel really hydrated and refreshed. Since I’ve already tried something from this brand it has definitely made me look more forward to trying this shower gel.and it’s a foam which I find so much to play with!

Let me know what you had in your box this month.

BirchBox Unboxing // January

The first BirchBox of 2017 has arrived and I’ve been super excited for this (I am every month though aren’t i?). I love that I receive a little gift to myself every month and I totally forget about it, so when it’s arrive it’s like Christmas! This month’s box is in collaboration with HelloFresh and we were given a discounted coupon to try out their weekly subscription for £9, meaning that we save £30 in our boxes this month. HelloFresh is a food service that deliver a week’s worth of meals, fully prepared and ready to be cooked right to your front door. I’ve researched more about this company and personally I won’t be purchasing a box because I can’t ever see myself eating these types of meals but I know some people would love this type of service especially if they’re busy and always on the go. So, let’s jump straight into this months BirchBox!

I first noticed this small sample sized product of the Nuxe Multi-Purpose Dry Oil for the face, body and hair. Now I’ve seen this as a full size product in person and it’s huge, the bottle is massive. It’s retail price is £21 for a full size bottle and I definitely think if you enjoy this product, you should definitely repurchase because it will last you for so long. I’m actually most excited about this product because who doesn’t love a bit of shimmer on their body, hair and everywhere in between right?. It’s description says that it is full of six essential oils plus vitamin E which is so good for your body. It provides nourishment with a hint of golden radiance. I can’t wait to give this a try!

Next is the Merci Hand Cream and it’s a full sized sample, it’s price of £4.90 and it’s actually quite a large product. It’s big enough to keep you going for a little while but small enough to put in your handbag and head out. It’s packed with pearls and nourishing extracts to pamper and smooth. I think there is a connection with each of these products this month, they all seem to be nourishing.. not that I’m complaining of course. I do like a good hand cream and I always find my hands get really dry, regardless of the season so I’m very pleased.

In a previous BirchBox I was given a Lord & Berry lip crayon which I absolutely love, so when I saw that I received a Lord & Berry Conceal-It Crayon I was over the moon. It retails for £12 and this month we were lucky enough to receive another full sized sample, win! I tested it on my hand and it’s so buttery and smooth, it blends lovely too which makes me more excited to try it out for my under eye area. My shade is in ivory and I’m interested in how good it’ll be at highlighting my face too.

I also got the Kebelo Clarifying Shampoo which retails at £13.95 for a full sized sample. I’ve never ever tried a clarifying shampoo but I know so many people who swear by them. It’s said to deep clean and detox strands and scalp to create healthier and less dull looking hair. What more could you want seriously?

Finally, I also received the Prismologie Yellow Day Shower Gel. If I am totally honest, this is the product I’m least excited for. It’s retail price of £30 full sized and that’s a ridiculous price for a shower gel and not something I’ll ever purchase. I feel like shower gel’s all do the same thing and I’ve got some really affordable shower gel’s by Leather Imperial which I swear by and are less than £2 a bottle. However, I’ll definitely be giving this a go and seeing whether it’s actually worth the fuss.

So, there you have it! January BirchBox. Let me know whether you liked yours this month. In the mean time, check out my social media:

Birchbox Unboxing // November 2016

My November  arrived! Yippee. The theme of this months box is peacock and it’s bloody beautiful. Birchbox teamed up with Tatlet magazine to design a party season box. It’s fantastic!
This months Box had 2 make up products, so exciting. The first is the Obsessive Compulsive Cosmetics Lip Tar Primer. This retails for £15 for a full product. This essentially primes and prepares lips for lip products. It helps the lips to stay moisturiser and helps lip products last longer and look fabulous. Definitely looking forward to trying it out.

Next is the Midi Wet Brush by Wet Brush. This is pretty much a hair brush, retailing at £11.99 it combs out any knots and tangles whilst being gentle on the scalp. Really appreciate this as I hate buying hairbrushes!

My collection of NUXE products are growing each month! I also got the NUXE Crème Prodigieuse. Retailing at £21 for a full size bottle. It’s a moisturiser that is full of blue everlasting flowers and helps to boost the skins antioxidant levels. Lovely!

A Birchbox exclusive was also included, this is the Beauty Protector Protect and Detangle Spray. This product is an all in one spray that conditions, smoothed, adds shine, set angles and protects hair. Retailing at £18.50 a bottle I have high hopes!

The final item I got is the Bbrowbar Brow Pencil in Indian Chocolate. This retails at £13 a full sized product and the colour is a medium brown shade. I never really focus on my eyebrows so much, can’t wait to see if this product changes me!

Well there you have it. My November Birchbox! What did you guys have in yours?
