Products That I Can Live Without

Whilst packing to go away I realised that I had so many makeup products that I know that I could live without and as many others probably will agree. I just think that some products that I have aren’t as necessary as others and I thought I would share with you guys some of the products that I think aren’t as necessary as others.

I do enjoy using a setting spray and I know some people love it and live for them. Personally I believe that they are a nice addition to my makeup routine but not something I would ever rely on for everyday makeup. I do like to use them when I’m going on a night out or evening event when I want my makeup to especially last longer than normal. However, I do have some favourites which include the Urban Decay Setting Spray and the Rimmel Insta Fix & Go.

Now I don’t always wear blush as my cheeks often tend to show their natural blush anyway and I really enjoy wearing just bronzer and looking quite tan anyway. If I do wear blush it normal a peach toned shade and often matte simply because I don’t like too much shimmer on my face when I do like highlight.

I also think lip liners aren’t totally necessary. In my entire makeup collection I own two lip liners which include a L’Oreal lipliner and a Mac Factor universal lip liner which really made me realise that lip liners are totally unnecessary. I quite like the shape of my lips and I definitely do not enjoy the overdrawn look at all. Although I know so many people love them and rely on them to make their lips look a bit more plumty and sultry. I also don’t enjoy having too many products on my lips at once so if I do wear them it’s always alone and with no gloss or lipsticks on top at all.

Let me know some of the products that you think are unessary and you don’t need in your makeup bag. In the mean time, follow me on my social media:

Spring Lip Colours

Spring is basically almost over and I’m pretty delayed on showing you guys what lip colours I have been wearing but if I’m honest, these colours would look just as good in the summer as well. When I think of spring I always think of very soft pretty pink shades and beiges which is what I’ve been loving this spring.

I have three colours that I’ve been loving this season although two of them do look similar but they have different finishes. Depending on how I’m feeling or what event I’m going too I can pick between the Urban Decay Cream lipstick in Streak. The finish is actually really pretty and it does just sink into the lips leaving a beautiful subtle pink stain to the lips. This isn’t why I like wearing it though, it’s because it’s a cream finish and it isn’t matte and I love this for general daily wear.

For when I do want a stronger matte lipstick I like the Mac lipstick in Please Me. I love to wear this with a glam statement but neutral eye look. It’s extremely long wearing and lasts all night regardless of what I’m drinking or eating. It doesn’t bleed at all and just continues to look beautiful and clean looking.

The final product is in fact a lip pencil from L’Oreal in the shade 302 Bois De Rose. This is infact a lot darker but I think it looks lovely with a mauve eye and cheek. I mostly wear it alone because it does feel heavy on the lip but you can top it with your favourite lip gloss, I like Tanya Burr Lunch Date but this gloss can get very sticky.

There we have my 3 favourite lip colours this season! What’s yours been?

L’Oreal Paris Infallible Total Cover Concealer Palette

In January I purchased the newly released L’Oreal Paris Infallible Total Cover Concealer Palette from Superdrug for £9.99 and i’m finally getting around to giving you guys my full review! The drugstore have been releasing some incredible products throughout 2017 and this one is one that I’ve been loving and I can definitely see me repurchasing. For the price you get three concealer shades and two colour correcting shades which personally I think is a bargain. However, the concealer shades are not universal at all and can only be used by those with fair to medium skin which is probably the only downside.

I mainly use the green colour correcting shade to minimise redness and I rarely use the purple shade and if I do I place it under my eyes. I then use the first concealer shade to apply over the colour correctors before applying my foundation. I don’t ever use the 2 middle concealer shades as they are too dark for me but the formula of the products is outstanding for drugstore. They are so full coverage and they blend brilliantly, personally I don’t ever use the concealer on top of foundation as I find it cakes slightly. Overall, I love this product and this would definitely be ideal for makeup artists and travelling.

L’Oreal Lumi Magique Primer

So.. I’m aware that I’ve been super delayed on trying this primer. In fact definitely over 6 months delayed if not longer. I was so hesitant about trying this primer because I thought it wasn’t going to be as good as everybody claimed and eventually I gave in and decided to try it for myself. I knew I wouldn’t know whether I did like it or if I didn’t unless I gave it a go. I picked it up last month and I’ve been giving it a fair trial to see whether it’s that good.

I don’t always wear primers as my foundation generally stays put and if I do wear them it’ll be in my T zone. However, as I’ve been trying this I’ve been applying it across the whole of my face and waiting for it to dry before applying further products. It comes out so white, it’s really brightening and highlighting. In fact it shocked me when I first went to apply it as I thought I’d picked up an unusual looking highlighter.

To apply I just rub it against my fingers and distribute it across my face by massaging it and gently patting it in. It’s incredibly soft and don’t feel like a drugstore primer at all. It doesn’t need much work at all to blend in and it dries quickly too. However, my favourite thing about this is that it makes my skin feel so cool and soft. Whenever I apply this it always leaves me feeling like I’ve been wearing a sheet mask. It’s incredible for moisture too.

Do I think that it makes my makeup last longer? Eh, I never really see a difference. Personally I think and actually know I can wear makeup and not apply this primer. I don’t think it makes my makeup last longer at all.

Do I think this makes my makeup look glowy and dewy? Absolutely! I always feel so highlighted and dewy when I wear this under my makeup. It leaves this beautiful glow under the foundation and I always have compliments when I wear this. So then yes, I’ll possible repurchase this for when I really want a glowing and highlighted look.

Beauty Haul & Reviews

Hi, guys!

Over the past few months I have accumulated a lot of new beauty products that I just had to share with you. My student loan is supporting my addiction to shopping and I’m so thankful to Student Finance Wales for helping me buy all these fantastic new items. Im just going to get right into it, there’s a lot! Get yourself a cuppa and sit cosy. You’ll be here a while.

Starting with an repurchase because I simply cannot tell you guys how much you need this lipstick for the Autumn/Winter season. If you haven’t already guessed, it’s the Rimmel by Kate Moss 107. Ughhhh this lipstick is to die for. It’s literally the ideal lip colour throughout this time of year and I repeatedly fall in love with it every year. The colour is a beautiful dark red with slight purple undertones, it’s such a pretty wine colour and the formula is so creamy and buttery. For a super long lasting lipstick you can’t go wrong with the price, only £5.49 in Superdrug. Check it out here. I love this colour so much, it’s my current go to.

As we all know I love a good face mask and when I had seen L’Oreal had introduced them Clay Masks I’ve been super excited to try them. There are three types, red to exfoliate and brighten, green to combat oily skin and black to purify. Fortunately I’ve been able to test out all three masks  and I loved them. I only used the green one on my t-zone but it made so much difference to how my skin looks and feels. It also helped my make up to sit perfectly on my face. The red is to brighten and exfoliate, it does exactly what it says. I also use the black one all over my face as it helps to to create a more clean and hygrated skin. My face is so soft and glowing after using the mask and it’s makes me skin so hydrated too. Check out here for the red mask, here for the green mask and here for the black. I’ll definitely be purchasing the black mask soon.

Keeping in theme with L’Oreal who recently introduced their Micellar Water. I’ve been a huge fan of the Garnier Micellar Water for over a year now and I’ve never found any other product as good as it. Until now. It’s designed to remove makeup smoothly and softly whilst hydrating the skin. It doesn’t pull my skin or irritate my eyes and it helps my eye makeup to rub off with no issues. It’s an absolute dream to work with. Check on Superdrug, here.

Morphe Brushes are a popular brand and are promoted by so many bloggers and Youtubers. I come across the Morphe Brushes 600 set on Beauty Bay for £11.25, Look here. It has 12 brushes and comes in a pouch to store them. I think they’re a brilliant purchase and are a great contribution towards my collection of brushes. They’re so soft and easy to work with, definitely ideal for beginners. I personally love the powder brush as it distributes powder evenly across my face and doesn’t leave any streaks or lines. They’re a great buy!

Another lip product that I bought is the Gerard Cosmetics lipgloss in Maneater. Check here, I got mine from Beauty Bay for £8.50. It’s super glossy and another colour that will be excellent throughout this time of year. It’s slightly darker than the Rimmel 107 but when combined together it creates the most perfect look. I don’t enjoy the gloss on it’s own, mainly because it causes such a mess when eating or drinking and ends up all around my mouth and looks like an utter disaster. Other than that, it’s got a beautiful formula and is soft on the lips. Really looking forward to wearing this throughout winter time.

I also made a small order from The Body Shop. There was an online deal that took away £25 from a £50 order and included free delivery, how could I resist! I had so many things I wanted to buy but managed to only purchase four items. Firstly, the Fresh Body Sorbet in Pink Grapefruit, click here to check it out. I wasn’t entirely sure what this product was at first and I was so interested by it. I later discovered it’s a fancy moisturiser with a fancy name. It’s bloody lush though. I begun using this when I fractured my wrist and the cast was making my arm smelly (possible tmi?), but it worked and it made my arm smell and my skin feel so soft. Eventually I started using it all over my body and it’s the best thing ever. Super soft, super hydrating and I like it a lot.

Over the summer I visited one of The Body Shop stores and come across the Seaweed face moisturiser. It’s said to be useful for oil-control and sensitive skin. It’s incredibly soft to use and feels so refreshing on my skin. It’s also such a fantastic base for makeup to sit on and I’ve been really enjoying this moisturiser. This retails for £12 and apparently it works so well with the Tea Tree Oil.

I also purchased the Camomile Sumptuous Cleansing Butter. I got this because of Zoella’s recommendations, but it also smells and feels fantastic. It’s supposed to be used as a gentle makeup remover. I haven’t used this yet because of my wrist but I’m looking forward to trailing it. This was £10 and is such a large tub, super inexpensive in my eyes.

The final item I bought from The Body Shop is the British Rose Palette. This palette was £20, it consists of 6 eye shadows and 2 blusters. The palette ranges from day time tones and you can dress it up at night with a smokey look. It’s beautiful, the shadows blend so well and they’re so pigmented with little fall down. I like it a lot and totally recommend it.

I purchased the L.A Girl Pro Conceal in Porcelain years ago and still love the product as much as I did the first time. I thought it was time to try colour correcting so I got the L.A Girl Pro Conceal in Green to combat my blemishes and imperfections. I’ve read that it’s a dupe for the Urban Decay Naked Concealer in green, I haven’t tried the UD concealer but I can say I love the L.A Girl concealer and it’s more than likely going to be repurchased! I got mine from Amazon for £3 and it’s such a brilliant purchase.

I also come across the L.A Girl Matte Flat Finish Pigment Gloss in Secret. Much like the Rimmel 107 it’s a dark red, wine like colour and is super mystifying. The biggest issue with it is that when it dries, it feels tacky and sticky on the lips. It also transfers onto everything, literally everything. It’s quite messy and leaves a slight stain. The colour is beautiful I just wish the formula was slightly better. However for £3.50 you can’t go wrong.

My wonderful Matt  picked me up a few gifts from Beauty Bay for our anniversary. I’ve had my eye on the Zoeva Cool Spectrum Palette for a little while now and for £15 I couldn’t believe how cheap it was. It has 18 colours from mattes to shimmers and includes natural daytime wearing shades and some that can spice up your eye look ready for a night out. The shadows are so pigmented and easy to blend. It’s a fantastic palette and I can’t wait to use it for a all over glam look.

Matty also got me Morphe Brushes Blush Palette in 9B for 15.95. It’s beautiful, I’m totally in love with it. Blushes are something I never really buy but now I’ve got 9 large pans of blushes so I’m probably good for a little while. It’s a lot larger than I thought it would be and has a variety of mattes and shimmers. It makes me super happy! They’re so pigmented and the palette will go with so many looks. It’s gotten me a lot more excited for the Morphe 350 Eyeshadow Palette to be back in stock.

The final item Matt bought me is the Milani 2 in 1 Conceal and Perfect Foundation. I’ve had my eye on this foundation for so long and I never got around to getting it. It was £10 on Beauty Bay and I got mine in the shade Creamy Vanilla which is the what I believe to be the lightest shade. It’s such full coverage and has such a pretty, dewy finish. I’ve been really enjoying this foundation but I think I need to use it a bit more for my full review.

This post is so long, if you’ve gotten this far well done! I hope you liked this post and found my reviews useful.

My Top 5 Make Up Products.

Hey, guys

I frequently fall in love with make up and end up using it repeatedly for a few weeks until I buy something else. However I do have a selection of   beauty products that I love and have returned to for so long. All five products belong to different brands and each of them has made me love them repeatedly. I didn’t struggle at all with the post as I knew exactly what my favourites were but I am always open to trying new products. So let me know your statement beauty products in the comments below and I’ll check them out.

First of all, the Too Faced Chocolate Bon Bon palette. My gosh, this palette is perfect. It has everything I need for a natural daytime look to a nighttime glam. It’s so easy to use and they blend so well and the shadows are so creamy.  It has a variety of shades from transition colours and shimmers, they’re so pigmented too. It’s beautiful. I bought mine for £39.00 in Debenhams in April and haven’t stopped using it. You can buy yours here. I will admit, I dropped it once and damaged the colour Malted but they’re still so perfect. It’s my go-to palette and one that I’ll always return too. Also, it smells amazing! It smells just like chocolate. It’s definitely tempted me to buy the other palettes from Too Faced, perhaps my student loan will come in handy this year..

I’ve been using the L’Oreal Infallible 24h Matte foundation for well over a year and I’ve bought so many tubes of this. I got mine in the shade Porcelain 10, because I’m super pale. You can get it at Superdrug for £7.99 here. It’s so easy to blend and it feels so soft and has a medium but build-able coverage. I find with some matte foundations they feel chalky but this one is totally different, it never cakes around my dry areas and it’s so good for us oily girls! I totally recommend for all skin types to try. It’s lovely and it’s so affordable.

Maybelline Brow Drama Sculpting Brow Mascara is so quick and easy to use on those days when you’re in a rush or can’t be bothered to do a full face of makeup. Mine is in the shade Medium Brown, it’s able to shape my brows and make them look thicker and so natural whilst keeping them in place all day long. It’s available here, in Superdrug for £4.99. For less than £5 I think it’s fantastic.

I had never tried many liquid bronzer’s before this one is Stila Aqua Glow and has been my trusty sidekick for several months now and I use it almost everyday. I got mine on Feel Unique for £22, take a look here. It’s so easy to use and provides such a nice natural glow to the skin. I use a pea sized amount on my cheeks and forehead and it always looks so lovely. It’s lightweight and even looks so good on my pale skin. It adds a nice bronze to the face and helps to shape and add colour.

I’ve been using the NYX HD Studio Finishing Powder in Translucent for almost a month and ugh I love it so much. It just makes me so happy to use. It sits comfortably on the face, it doesn’t cake up around my eyes and dry patches. It allows my makeup to stay on all day and looks wonderful. It helps to highlight my under eyes so well and makes them look wide awake. What more could a girl want? I raved about this in my August favourites (go take a look) and I still love it. I can see this continuing to be in my everyday makeup bag for a while! I got mine in boots for £8, have a look here and try it out for yourself. You won’t regret it.

There is my top 5 beauty products that I repeatedly use and fall in love with.  I do apologise for the state my products are in, they’re slightly messy but well loved. Let me know yours and come back every Monday, Wednesday and Friday at 1pm for more posts.
