The new year is well under way and I’ve been trying to stick to my New Years resolutions. At the beginning of the year I posted about my resolutions for 2017 and how I want to do things that will influence my life. So, I thought it was time to update you guys on how I’ve been doing or how badly.
Firstly, I wanted to bake more. Nope, not my under eyes but actual cakes. I attempted this by baking packet Tom and Jerry cupcakes. Baking is time consuming and expensive. I haven’t got time to do this all the time but I do think that I’ll continue to try a few more times within the next few months. Bub no means do I want to be the next British Bake Off winner but it’s more of a stress reliever.
Next, I wanted to exercise more. For the first few weeks I definitely made a good amount of effort towards this by regularly walking and participating in short runs. I’m not a runner and I throughly disliked every moment of it. However, I’m definitely more likely to participate in exercise now than ever before. I’m happy to walk places regardless of the distance and I’m keen to do some form of exercise but running. It is not for me at all.
I also wanted to lose some weight. So I started dieting and really struggled to keep a balance because of how restricting it is. In hopes to help my situation I weighed myself and instantly knocked me down, I gained more weight than I had realised and I was unhappy. I started Slimfast after hearing so many positive reviews and in total I have lost over half a stone! Very pleased with my first few weeks and now the weight loss has started to slow down I know I can have days off and still continue to lose the weight in my own time. I totally recommend Slimfast!
I also wanted to become more sociable and this is one of the resolutions that I can say have stuck to. I’ve been going out more and become happier to meet new people and socialise more. I do think it’s benefiting my lifestyle and making me happier too. Win, win! The main reason for my nights out is due to the weekly socials my society host every Tuesday night. As the president of the society I am able to socialise and meet more like-minded people which is exactly what I wanted from being president. I get to help people along the way too and meet people who are just as anxious about university life and the stresses of assignments.
Let me know about your resolutions, are you sticking to them? It’s harder than I thought!

I recently wrote a post about starting my bucket list which I wrote a few things that I want to do in my life, one of them was actually to travel abroad alone. I feel like travelling is something that everybody should do at some stage in their life, I understand that some people like to stay in their comfort zone. However, I for one like to see new things and experience a way of living differently to my own. This year, my Boyfriend Matt and I went to Salou and Barcelona in Spain in we loved it. It’s definitely inspired me to explore and see more of the world whilst I’m young, whether I’m alone or with others.
New York City, USA
Los Angeles, USA
New Orleans, USA
These are just some of the places that I’d love to spend some time in and experience the music, food, life and see things outside of Wales. I’d love to go shopping on Rodeo Drive, visit the TajMahal, be in Lapland during Christmas, New Year in New York and listen to live music in New Orleans. All of these places have a culture and a way of living that I wish to experience, something that is different to my life in Wales. A temporary time break from my day to day life at home.
However, I totally understand that visiting these places and travelling across the world will be very costly and are just dreams for the time being until I’ve finished my education. I’m not looking to travel all places in the world just a few that I know will make a difference to my way of thinking and living.
Travelling allows you to become more educated as you’re giving yourself the chance to learn more lessons and grow as an individual. You’re able to reevaluate your priorities and learn to value the experiences you have and appreciate the life you were given. You become to understand that packing lightly allows you to realise that you don’t need jewellery, clothes and makeup to survive in life and make you happy. It’ll teach you to take day by day, stop planning too far ahead and life is short so do the things that make you happy. Travel, explore and be excited to take on the experience.
Let me know where you would like to visit in the world and why. Check my social media in the meantime:

For so long I have wanted to start a bucket list, there are so many things I’d like to do in my life and I have no idea where to start. I may not do them today, this month or this year but at some point in my life I will do them. My friend Karrie has begun her bucket list and I just thought that it was such a unique way to live your life. Also I find it so satisfying when I cross things off my lists and now I get to live my life crossing my accomplishments off. So here we are, the beginning of my bucket list.
- Pass my driving test.
- Travel abroad alone.
- Finish my degree.
- Visit L.A
- Own a pet of my own.
- Watch all of the Harry Potter film’s in a single day.
- Be a home owner.
- Spend Christmas/New Year in New York City.
Start a blog.
- Go in a hot air balloon.
- Build my own library.
- Have a 24 hour party for my 24th birthday.
- Go on a safari.
- Learn a language.
- Learn how to Swim.
Here we go, the first 15 things on my bucket list. Eventually I’ll add more but for now these will do me just fine. Let me know whats on your bucket list in the comments below.
