Who Do You Aspire To Be?

Someone once asked me who I aspire to be, who my role model is. For a long time, I didn’t know and until April this year, I still didn’t know. I think choosing a role model is such an important thing because that person is potentially who you aspire to be or have characteristics that are similar to them. It’s taken me so long to realise that my role model is in fact, my Nan, Rosemary.

My Nan (Nana P) had a stroke in April 2017 and I have never been more inspired by somebody in my life. Her strength and determination to be more than a stroke victim have shown me how incredible she is (I already knew but this situation just added that extra loving). Although she had experienced such a horrible thing she never once let it become her. The way she lives her life has definitely changed over these past few months but she still shows us every day that just because something bad happened to you, doesn’t mean it stops you from being who you are and achieving things that you always want too.

In her 71 years of living, she has worked, raised 4 children, cared for, loved and nurtured countless amounts of grandchildren. She has been a friend, an adviser, a shoulder to cry on for all to use, but most of all, one of the strongest women I have ever met. Although at times she can be brutally honest and hold a grudge, she still shows me that being kind and fun is one of the most worthy things to be in life. Being true to who you are is what makes people love and adore you.

Whether I’m feeling down, had my heart broken or been disheartened by something, she always manages to encourage me to be more than the situation. She taught me that I’m worthy of love, friendship and life. My Nan reminds me every day that it is important to keep living because it’s so short.

This is exactly why my Nan is by far the most important person in my life and someone who I aspire to be. Who is yours?

Mario Badescu Drying Lotion

I have recently been breaking out in acne and I have been trying everything to make my skin in a better and healthier condition. The winter season definitely ruins the condition of my skin and at the moment its in desperate need of saving. I come across this Mario Badescu Drying Lotion on Beauty Bay and the reviews were outstanding. So many people were saying how amazing it is since it literally dries up acne overnight and I couldn’t help myself but have to try it.

As I said, I got mine from Beauty Bay for £13. It’s actually a very small amount of product of only 1oz but you definitely don’t need to use a lot. I apply it using a cotton bud, dip it in once and apply to my face. It’s got a really strong chemical smell, which is definitely really off putting but I definitely see a difference since using it.

I don’t think it’s an easy and quick fix to acne but it definitely reduces them faster than any other product I’ve used. I put it on before I go to sleep and I do find the large ones are very reduced and the smaller ones are minimised but not totally gone. I find that it really makes my skin feel dry too, so I always make sure to moisturise in the morning.

Truthfully, it’s not wowed me or changed my life but it can see me continuing to use it for large areas of acne to reduce them slightly.

If you’ve tried this, let me know your review. Did you like it?

Essence Touch Blush // Review

It’s Christmas eve! Since it’s thr end of Blogmas I thought there would be nothing better than to end it with a couple of posts about beauty. Especially these Essence blushes. I mentioned them in my November favourites and I just have to dedicate a whole post just about them. They’re brilliant and I’ve been in love with them for a fair few weeks now. They’re my go to blushes for this autumn and they go well with so many makeup looks.

I got both of these for £1 each in Wilkinson and I didn’t even think they would be worth anything. I had so little hope in these that I had already planned to give them to my 6 year old niece and to my shock they were beautiful. The pigment is outstanding for the price and the colours are so neutral and pretty. I picked up two shades, a satin blush called Satin Love which I mostly wear and literally matches with so many makeup looks. I especially love this with a bronze-glow and red lip. The second shade is a matte shade called Berry Me Up and is a soft, pink blush which creates a lovely, natural blush. I really like to wear this with a low-coverage foundation and lots of highlight to create a minimal makeup look.

I couldn’t be happier with these blushes and if i’m honest, I would have paid a lot more for them than £1. The formula is beautiful and definitely feels like a higher priced product. Over the moon and can see me loving these for so long. What are your favourite blushes? let me know.
