Christmas is near and I’ve just finished university for 3 whole weeks, yippee! As a little treat to you guys, for this full week you’ll be getting a new post everyday until Christmas Eve. Be sure to check back here everyday at 1pm for a new blog post. Merry Christmas!
As you know by now I love Christmas and for my family it’s a busy time of year but it’s the best. There is nothing better than spending the festive period with your loved ones to celebrate. We make such a huge effort at Christmas time and my parents home looks like Santa’s grotto for around 6 weeks (yep, i’m serious it’s that long), the kids love it and I love having the chance to relax and spend time with my friends and family. I thought I’d let you guys know what my favourite things are about Christmas!
#1 – From around November 1st the Christmas Spirit is in full speed and everybody is preparing for Christmas. I love the upcoming weeks to Christmas when everybody spends their weekends shopping, taking the kids to visit Santa and his reindeer and visiting Winter Wonderland. It’s such a great time and I really enjoy the build up to Christmas. It’s so lovely to walk down the high street and hear people singing Christmas Carols and dancing around the supermarket to Wham!. Nothing is better than seeing my Niece become a big ball of excitement because Santa will be here soon. My Nephew, Ethan is almost 1 year old and this is his first Christmas, I can’t wait to see his little face on Christmas either.
#2- Christmas films are a brilliant way to get you in the Christmas spirit. I love turning on the TV with a cup of hot chocolate and curl up with a good Christmas film. It’s so relaxing and peaceful to chill out, especially after busy day, with a film and it’s even better to do with your loved ones. Every Christmas eve, my parents, brother and I always like to sit down and watch a film together before the business of Christmas begins.
#3- My favourite thing is giving people gifts that I know they’ll love and appreciate. I like to buy gifts for my friends and family that I know they’ll love and be so grateful for. I’m not one of those people that needs to receive a present when I’ve given one to someone, I just love giving people that little something to let them know I’m so grateful to have them in my life and appreciate the things they have done to help me through the year.
There you have it, my favourite things about Christmas. What are yours? let me know in the comments.
I’m always on social media, check them out:

I’m an avid Disney fan, how can you not be? But I definitely have my favourites just like everybody. In fact, I have 5 favourite Disney films that I repeatedly watch and fall in love with every single time. I’ve been collecting the Disney classics this year and my collection is very slowly expanding. I’m hoping Santa brings me a few of my favourites this year.
Disney has always been a huge part of my life since childhood and having been the younger sister of two older brothers, I often got to choose what we would watch and without fail, Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs was always my first choice. I loved it, my favourite drawf is Sleepy because he reminds me so much of myself. I love a good nap. Snow White is my favourite Disney princess and I just like how innocent she is also the youngest of all the princesses. This was and always been my overall favourite Disney film.
My second favourite is Big Hero Six. Having recently been released I wasn’t that fussed on watching it but once I did I was so overwhelmed with the story. It wasn’t your traditional Disney film and it actually represented the feelings and emotions of grief and depression through loss of a loved one. It’s brilliant and it also makes me a lot happier that Fall Out Boy sang the ending song.
My next favourite is The Aristocats. I bloody love this film which is surprising since I’m not an animal lover and especially not cats. However this film so freaking cute, Marie is my favourite because she’s full of so much attitude and sass. I actually first saw this when I was 16, definitely not a childhood love but it’s grown on me and now it’s the film I will always watch when I feel unwell.
My fourth favourite is Frozen. Some of you may really dislike this option but I don’t care. This film is bloody great, it’s not about romantic love but sibling love. It’s the total opposite to the normal Disney film and I think that’s what brings so much character this film. Olaf is so cute and bubbly, I want him in my life.
My final favourite is Cool Running’s. It’s not animated and is actually based on the true story of the Olympic Jamaican bobsledders. It’s utterly fantastic and so funny. I first watched this with my brothers when I was a kid and now I can’t even count how many times this film has been watched by me and made me bubble with love and happiness. It made me want a lucky egg for so long.
There we have my top 5 favourite Disney films. What’s yours? Let me know!

I love a good pampering just like anybody and especially when I’ve had a stressful day. I love nothing more than to run myself a bath, face mask on and a good book at hand. What better way to relax and unwind.
After a stressful day I like to head home and put my comfy clothes on. I feel like once I’ve removed my bra and put my comfies on I’m set for the evening and nobody or nothing will get me back into my day clothes. I’ve opted for my grey jogging bottoms, baggy t-shirt and my grey slippers. I remove all my makeup using the L’Oreal Micellar Water and then use the Avène Cleanance Cleansing Gel.
At this point I’m probably hungry and I’ll go ahead and make some food, depending on how crappy the day has been I’ll either opt for some form of healthy meal or devour a pizza with no concern.
Now my tummy is full I’ll run myself a bath and add a Lush bath bomb or bubble bath. Today I’ve chosen Radox Stress Relief Bath Cream. It’s a gorgeous rosemary and eucalyptus smell and adds so much loving to my bath. It’s designed to calm stressful mood and it does exactly that.
Whilst the bath is running I’ll put a face mask on, I used the L’Oreal Detox Clay Mask. I love this one because it makes my skin feel and look amazing and healthy and it helps my skin to feel cleaner.
After the bath I’ll moisturise my face and body, using the Rituals Magic Body Cream on my body and the Avène Thermal Spring Water and the Avène Cleanance Expert moisturiser.
At this point decide whether I want to read a book, watch a film (usually a rom-com) or a TV Show and this time I went for FRIENDS because when can you ever not love FRIENDS?
I’ll cuddle up on my duvet, possibly with some ice cream or cake.. maybe even both and prepare myself for a night of relaxing.
What’s your pamper evening routine? Let me know In the comments.

Book review day, wahoo! Bloody love Fridays on my blog. This weeks book review is dedicate to the lady herself, Miss Bridget Jones. In September I posted my review on the newly released film Bridget Jones’s Baby and then several weeks later the book was finally released. I’ve loved Bridget Jones since I was a teenager, in fact she reminds me of myself. She’s utterly fantastic, humorous, real and just generally a brilliant lady. The previous books and films have portrayed Bridget as none other than a common English woman with bad habits and awful language. The book was as brilliant as I thought it would be.
Bridget Jones, 43, single, mother-to-be. Still living in her tiny flat, Bridget had to plan a whole life around a tiny baby with no idea who the father was. It could be either of the two loves of her life, Mark Darcy or Daniel Cleaver. After two spontaneous nights of thrilling sex with both of her previous lovers Bridget finds herself in a pickle when she discovers she is pregnant with no idea who the father is. Along the way she finds herself discovering who her heart truly lies with.
Now, if you’ve seen the film already you’ll be aware of the ending. The book and the film are definitely different, which was predictable as the film isn’t based off the book. I personally loved both the book and film. However, the book was such a good part of the collection by Helen Fielding that I couldn’t help but become totally captivated with the love triangle between Bridget, Mark and Daniel all over again. It was so funny, I laughed and cried and remembered all over why I loved Bridget in the first place. Blood fantastic.

Concealer was created and sent by the heavenly angles to help make our lives easier. It’s true, concealer has so many purposes and there are so many good concealers out there that aren’t raved about enough enough. So, here I am today sharing my concealer hacks with you guys.
My favourite drug store concealer are:
- Maybelline Fit Me Concealer
- Collection Lasting Perfection
- Bourjois Radiance
- L.A Girl Concealer
These 4 concealers just do it for me. They’re bloody great, full coverage and fantastic for highlighting. The Maybelline Fit Me Concealer is excellent for covering blemishes and especially the Bourjois Radiance Concealer is so good for brightening the under eye area.
Hack #1: Lipstick fix.
If you’re like me and applying lipstick perfectly isn’t your strongest point then this is the hack for you. Getting lipstick around the outside of your lips is by far the most annoying thing ever. However, a bit of concealer to tidy it up and you’re good to go. Take a small and thin brush with a small amount of your favourite Concealer, place on the imperfection and lightly blend the Concealer in minding not go touch the lipstick.
Hack #2: Sharp Lines.
A lot of people use tape to create a flawless line for that perfect smokey eye. However, if you don’t fancy using tape or if you haven’t got any then concealer is your best option. I usually do my eye shadow before my base but this hack can be done before or after the base is on. Once you’ve finished your perfect eye look and if you line just isn’t as sharp as you want it, take your small thin brush and a small amount of concealer from the end of your brow to the corner of your eye and blend outwards. Ta-dah! Perfect.
Hack #3: highlight your face.
After applying your foundation take a concealer lighter than your skin tone in a triangle shape under your eye. Blend thoroughly with a brush or beauty Sponge, I often use my fingers to blend too. This will then create the illusion of a natural and pretty highlight to the face. It also covers dark circles perfectly and helps reduce the look of sagging or puffy eyes.
There we have it, my 3 concealer hacks that can help you create a flawless makeup look.

I love giving gifts to my loved ones, especially DIY gifts. They’re so personal and these ones are such great stocking fillers. Every year I like to make a little something because I simply enjoy it, I also like to give them to those who will appreciate them the most. Matt is such a sweets type of person so giving him a big jar of sweets is such a good gift for him knowing how much he’ll appreciate the thoughts and effort that has gone into making it. These DIY gifts don’t have to cost a fortune and they can be as big or small as you like. So, here are a few little ideas for DIY Christmas gifts.
Mason jars can purchased in your local £1 shop or only. Totally inexpensive and decorative. They can also be recycled and used to add character to a room. I bought mine in a set of 3 for £2.99.
My first DIY is a sweet jar, as said above Matt loves sweets, so this year I’ll be adding some of his favourite sweets into a mason jar, adding the finishing touch of a ribbon and tag. Of course the ribbon and tag arent essential but it just makes the jar look so festive and pretty. Look below for my example of the sweet jar.
My next DIY is a small beauty hamper. I like small sample sized products a lot, I think they’re fantastic for those who aren’t entirely sure what types of beauty items they like or should be looking for. I’ve made this beauty hamper for a friend. Admittedly, I sort of cheated with this DIY. I used some of the sample sized products I got in my Birchboxes to complete this DIY. These are generally the ones that I don’t particularly like or I feel that another one of my friends would enjoy more. I includes 4 of these products into the jar and rapped a bow around it. Boots and Superdrug also sell small products if you’re interested in this DIY but don’t have the Birchbox subscription.
Around Christmas time so many stores sell hot chocolate sets, this is all well and good but a lot of the time they cost so much money. Why not make your own? I got a mug from B&M for £1 and filled it with my favourite hot chocolates and small marshmallows. Totally inexpensive and fun to make. This can suit any gender and is such a lovely stocking filler.
So here you have it, three DIY gift ideas suitable for all genders and are budget style. Let me know in the comments what you think.

As a student I know how difficult it is to actually sit down and write an assignment. The worst bit for me is definitely the mentally preparing myself to actually attempt to write it, especially when I’ve not created a plan or if I don’t actually understand what I’m doing. These are my few tips and tricks that can help you to prepare yourself and become motivated to actually write an assignment.
#1: Look at the assignment guidelines, check what your assignment requires and begin to think about how you’re going to go around it. Doing this will help you to discover what the title asks if you and during this time you can begin to mentally prepare the content of your assignment.
#2: Create a step by step plan. Doing this will help you to place your content into the correct areas. Ensure that you’re sticking to the plan through the writing process, if you don’t you may find yourself going off track and writing the wrong content. An example below:
– Main text
- Bullet point notes and subtitles, this will help you to stick to your content.
#3: Reading the recommended reading is so important as it’s a starting point to where you can begin to write your assignment. The recommended reading list is clearly recommnded for a reason and it’s a crucial area for the writing process. I was definitely this person to avoid the reading and it always ended up with a bad grade.
#4: Don’t begin an assignment hungry, ever. Get yourself some snacks and a drink to settle you for a few hours. This way you won’t get distracted when you’re becoming bored and you can reward yourself with new snacks every time you’ve finished a big section.
#5: Create a space full of no distraction. Boredom can give you the opportunity to clean your room, organise your DVDs and CDs alphabetically or wash the windows. I always make my way to the library and give myself a distraction free zone. There is nothing in the library that I’ll find distracting other than social media and I’ll have to resist the urge.
Let me know how you prepare yourself to write an assignment! Check out my social media:
